Reusable nappies - It’s Never Too Late to Make the Change
Curious about cloth but never been brave enough to take the plunge? We know the feeling…you had all the best intentions to start using washables and thought you’d just wait until you’d had the baby and then you’d get started. One thing leads to another and before you know it you’re celebrating their first birthday and still not using cloth.
Now it’s easier surely to just keep going than to make the change…?
We as parents are very good as giving ourselves guilt trips when it comes to our little ones, we want the best for them and beat ourselves up if we don’t think we’re doing the very best we can. But the thing is that that with nappies as with many other aspects of parenting there is no ideal way of doing things just the way that works for you and your family. So let’s debunk a few myths…
If I change now I won’t save any money…
Whilst using washable nappies from day one will see the biggest cost savings for you, by switching a year or more into your nappy journey will still save you money. If you are planning on extending your family then you may be also be able to re-use the nappies for subsequent children, saving even more.
I’m not sure I want to use them all the time…
You can Pop-in full time, part time, or just occasionally, that’s the beauty of using our nappies. You can choose the pack that suits you and your lifestyle or buy them individually and mix and match with other systems or just try a few out before you take the plunge completely. Using just one nappy a day will prevent over 900 nappies from going to landfill so any change you make, however small, will make a difference.
I’m not sure about all that extra washing...
This is often people’s biggest worry but they are often surprised at how they adjust to the routine once they have a system in place for putting on regular nappy washes. If you are starting with an older baby then your washing cycle will be less frequent anyway as they will be using less nappies a day than a newborn would, which makes for less washing overall – result!
I’m not sure I’ll know how to use them...
Pop-ins are easy to use and care for. They fit just like a disposable and full instructions and washing guidelines come with the nappies. Our friendly customer service team are always on hand to help too and there’s not a question you can asked them that they won’t have already heard at some point so ask away, that’s what we are here for!
