With part of our family living abroad, we do a fair bit of travelling between holidays and visiting the family. And if you’ve already attempted airport transfers and travelling with two young children, you will know how challenging that can be; a baby carrier can make your life so much easier! So the first thing on our packing list is our Close Caboo DXgo, although it never makes it to the suitcase.

Here’s our top reasons why we choose our Close Caboo when travelling:

It’s comfortable for all of us

Comfort is one of the most important considerations for us, we only have one body and it has to last us all our life… so looking after it and our posture is paramount for us.

When we are going to spend hours walking up and down an airport carrying our girls… we really need our baby-carrier to be comfortable for all of us… there’s nothing worse than starting a holiday with aches and pains from an ill-fitting baby carrier.

 Now… here comes the tough requirements… John is 5’10” and I am only 5’2” and we have a baby and a toddler to carry… finding something that fits all the combinations of parent and child can be challenging.

But despite the size differences our DXgo fits us both and we both find it very comfortable; the soft material just moulds nicely into your child’s and your body and it has a lovely soft bounce to it, thus the weight feels distributed in all the right places.

It’s easy to use and change between babies and carers

John can put a sleeping 3-year-old on his back in less than 10 seconds. Clip the waistband, pick up child, swing child and carrier to the back and pull on the material to shorten the straps… as easy as putting a rucksack on.

The next minute she wakes up and wants mama… John gently brings her down and picks up the 9-month-old and puts her in the DXgo on his front instead and she rests happily and content on his chest…

Changing from carrying a big child to carrying a small child is easy, the black lining on the edge of the base will roll inwards so you don’t have to do much.

Photo 2: Travelling by yourself with children doesn’t seem so overwhelming when you have a baby-carrier at hand. We love how the Close Caboo DXgo fits us all, the smallest of the family and the biggest.

It packs small and it’s lightweight

Without a doubt, one of the strengths of the DXgo is how small it packs and how light it is. Having two girls to carry, we take two baby-carriers, and one of them is not always in use, after all our 3 year old quite likes walking…

When it isn’t in use  it is very appreciated that we can pack it away easily and fit it into our normal rucksack without having to make additional space provisions. It’s also so lightweight that it’s as if we weren’t carrying it!

All year-round weather

Considering that the Close Caboo DXgo is not a dedicated summer baby-carrier, we think it feels quite nice all year round, including in summer. There is no bulky padding on the shoulders or waistband which means it feels quite breathable.

Breastfeeding on the go

When baby is hungry… baby eats… wherever you are… that’s what we like about the Close Caboo DXgo too… a little bit of easy adjusting and baby’s at breast level, feeding, and so discreet no one even notices.
